Corey Hoyte continued his sensational form by producing a beaver trick as Brittons Hill United maintained a perfect start to their BFA Premier League campaign with a 4-2 victory over Notre Dame on Sunday at the Wildey Turf.
The 21 year-old Hoyte, who is the league’s top scorer with seven goals from four matches, put on a remarkable show for the fans who braved the 4 p.m. sun and propelled Brittons Hill to yet another astonishing win.
The result meant that Brittons Hill remain unbeaten and are joint leaders of the Premier League with Weymouth Wales who defeated Paradise 3-1 in the nightcap encounter.
Former Barbados national striker Zeco Edmee gave Notre Dame an early lead in the third minute before Hoyte equalized eight minutes later before producing the go-ahead goal from the penalty spot in the 26th minute.
On the stroke of halftime, Hoyte netted his most memorable goal to date with a 25-yard free kick which left Dames’ custodian Shakib Kellman hapless.
Hoyte then capped off a brilliant performance, finishing from close range in the 71st minute after Brittons Hill put together a series of crisp passes.
Winston Maynard salvaged another goal a minute later for Dames, but it was too late as Brittons Hill marched away with all three points.
Deacons FC registered their first win of the season with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Abrahams United Silver Sands in a bottom of the table clash between the two sides.
In thrilling and chaotic scenes, all three goals were scored in second half stoppage time. Rashid Brooks and Shamaine Richards both scored from the penalty spot in the 92nd and 96th minutes respectively for Deacons FC to cancel out Troy Johnson’s equalizer in the 93rd minute.
Meantime, in the final match of the triple header, Weymouth Wales came from a goal down to beat Paradise.
Armando ‘Suga’ Lashley opened the scoring for Paradise in the 12th minute to move his tally to four for the season, before Mario Williams equalized in first half added time with a rebound from inside the area after Jason Boxill saved his initial penalty kick which was conceded when Paradise defender Dwight Pope fouled Shaquille Stewart.
The contest remained even until the 82nd minute when Kemar Headley drilled home to beat Boxill at his near-post before substitute Nadre Butcher added a third for Wales with a left-footed strike in the 90th minute.
