Police said the collision involved two vehicles — a motor lorry and a car. Both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when they collided head on. The driver of the car, died on the spot. He was the only occupant in that vehicle. The driver of the motor lorry sustained injuries to his legs and left wrist and was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance to seek further medical treatment. That driver was also the sole occupant. Police public relations officer Inspector Rodney Inniss said the circumstances which led to the collision are still unknown, however, he said police were in the process of carrying out investigations. Inniss also made an appeal to members of the public to refrain from filming such incidents and uploading them to social media. Due to their sensitive nature, he stated that such videos can be distressing to the friends, family and relatives of the individual involved.
