Tae’s performance of Bajan Ting won the judges’ favour, capturing 116 points before the happy crowd on Saturday night. Two of the contestants in the keen race tied for second place. After an error in the script to the MC announcing the results, declaring Trinity Clarke, as the second runner-up, the National Cultural Foundation speedily made a correction provided by the auditors. Clarke who sang I Love Soca and Zarie B with her rendition, Get Active, both place second with 104 points. Mr Showman placed fourth with We Doan Care. He was awarded 80 points for his performance. The remaining contestants in the Soca Category (fifth to eighth in alphabetical order) were Josh Ox with Push De Truck, Joshua B with Dis Sweet Festival; Lil Stathis, with Fold in Half and Ranesha with Good Vibes. In the Calypso category, The Mighty Bit Bit gained 99 points with his song Drug and Disobedience; Potent placed third with 93 points with his Can’t Lash We and Daneika’s Dear John placed fourth with 89 points. The remaining contestants in the Calypso category (fifth to eighth in alphabetical order) were King K with Dear God; Mhizz Khibaba with Unity Strength; Sabiah with Your Creation and Slay with Just Like These Women.
