Lawmen have commended the more than 30 000 attendees at three major Crop Over events over the weekend for their “outstanding behaviour” and given promoters kudos for the security they provided for partygoers and their compliance with police advice.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Barbados Police Service said no serious incidents were reported at We Ting on Saturday at Paragon, which was attended by more than 5 000 patrons, Tipsy Beach Party at Copacabana which attracted 10 000 partygoers, and the Tipsy All-White Party at the Botanical Gardens, which had more than 10 000 patrons.
“The Barbados Police Service congratulates the outstanding behaviour exhibited by all patrons attending those events. We are also high in commendation for the various promoters of those events, all of whom complied with the advice of the police in respect of security, traffic management, and general public discourse,” it said.
“It is testimony that we can promote large events well, we can police them effectively, and all patrons can come out and enjoy themselves, reassured that the future events will be free of serious incidents. Congrats to all concerned.”
The Police Service said it looked forward to “similar outcomes at the remainder of Crop Over activities on schedule”. (PR/BT)
