Kenya’s Alex Ekesa wins his 3rd consecutive Run Barbados Marathon

Kenyan Alex Ekesa won his third consecutive Run Barbados Marathon, following his impressive performance on Sunday.

Having won the event in 2019 and 2022, the 42-year-old returned this year to cross the finish line at Barclays Park in two hours, 35 minutes and 52 seconds (2:35:52).

The USA’s Brian Morseman finished second (2:38:17) and Vega Lagos (3:10:29) was third.

Following the race, Ekesa, who also finished second in 10K race on Saturday, said he was grateful for the opportunity given by the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc (BTMI) to defend his Marathon title.

The globetrotting athlete promised to be back for next year’s event.

Sixty-nine athletes competed in this year’s Run Barbados Marathon.
