It’s the first time, Barbados will be hosting a leader from one of the French-speaking African countries. President Sall was warmly welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Kerrie Symmonds and Minister in the Ministry of Economic Affairs Chad Blackman and other officials at the Grantley Adams International Airport. President of Senegal Macky Sall. Symmonds told reporters the two sides will be seeking to deepen ties in key areas including culture and connectivity. He also noted that Barbados will be drawing on Senegal’s reputable management of its scarce water resources. President Sall is scheduled to leave the island on Thursday.
