From June 1, Barbados, the birthplace of rum and cricket loving island, will transform into a sporting extravaganza, in anticipation of the ICC T20 World Cup finals being held at the prestigious Kensington Oval. Capturing the spirit of camaraderie and the vibrant culture and heritage of the West Indies and cricket, Mount Gay has released a limited-edition XO exclusively for Barbados. Antoine Couvreur, Managing Director of Mount Gay said the Limited Edition XO cricket-inspired edition not only pays homage to this year’s historic event, but also allows Barbadians and visitors to the island to “raise a glass and celebrate with the original and highly-awarded XO rum, an icon and source of pride for all Bajans”. “Inspired by the timeless tradition of cricket, this Barbados exclusive release celebrates the cultural legacy of legendary Barbadian players and the cherished moments of togetherness shared among fans, as depicted in the label design. “The limited edition represents our connection to cricket’s values of conviviality and team spirit, as well as Barbados’ richness and hospitality. We are proud to be a part of such a momentous occasion for cricket fans in Barbados and around the World,” Couvreur added. The limited-edition XO will be available for purchase at the Mount Gay Visitor Center and Mount Gay Distillery as well as at select Duty Free stores on the island.
