An information statement issued by the BMS said: “Model guidance currently suggests that the feature should emerge from the monsoon as a tropical wave sometime on Sunday 11th August 2024. There is some deviation regarding the intensity, however, environmental conditions are expected to be marginally favourable for some slow development as it tracks west-northwestward from early next week. The forecasters added that the feature is projected to pass north of Barbados sometime between Monday and Tuesday. During this time, light winds are likely across the island with the possibility of localized activity. It said the light winds are likely to result in warmer temperatures that may result in heat stress.
