Wanderers dominant on rain-affected day 1of BCA Elite Division Championships

Wanderers are in a commanding position against SigniaGlobe Financial BCA Youth after scoring 300/3 in only 47 overs as rain affected the first day of series 2 matches in the BCA Elite Division three-day Championships.

Playing at the Dayrells Road grounds, opening batsman Seth Agard batted through the innings as he ended the days play on 90 not out after facing 140 balls and striking seven fours. His opening partner Davion Hoyte made 52 while Jonathan Drakes fell three runs short of a century, Drakes struck six fours and six sixes in his 48 ball knock of 97. Raymon Reifer also chipped in with 40 in 24 balls.

Fusionz Boutique Spartan Captain Akeem Springer led the way for the home team with 54 in 52 balls which included six fours and four sixes as they ended the in an evenly contested game against Wildey.

Shamarh Brooks and Mikhail Austin chipped in with 38 and 36 respectively. Spartan ended the day at 157/6 in only 33 overs.

In a top of the table clash between Empire and ESAF Pickwick, rain affected most of the days play.

Empire’s bowlers dominated the Pickwick batters with early wickets at regular intervals. Pickwick lost wickets with the score on two, five, 11, 16 and 28 before Preston Clarke and Ajani Waterman staged a mini partnership of 48 runs.

Clarke lost his wicket before the lunch interval with the score at 76/6, there was no play after that due to rain.
