The event, held at the Kilombo Emancipation Village in Haggatt Hall, coincided with Monday’s international observance of Youth Day. Minister Charles Griffith highlighted the significance of the occasion: “One of the things that we are doing for International Youth Day is showcasing some of the talents of our young people. In addition to that, we are also highlighting some of the craft that was completed at some of the summer camps, so we are engaging our young people in a wholesome environment.” About 400 young people participated in the exercise, demonstrating a wide array of skills and abilities, he said. The showcase provided a platform for young people to display their various talents, whilst also exhibiting crafts produced during the summer camps, as part of the ministry’s bid to foster youth engagement and development through cultural and creative pursuits.
