FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 2.8K Jamaican national Onique Nicholas Ricketts was granted bail with conditions on his first appearance before a City court on two fraud charges. The 25-year-old who lives at Bayview Road, Bayland is not required to plead before the District โAโ Magistratesโ Court to the indictable charges of seeking to defraud Republic Bank (Barbados) Limited with a forged $745 cheque made out to him and drawn on the account of CASHWIZ (BRB) Limited on July 15. He is further accused of obtaining the cash from the bank with the bad cheque. Prosecutor Ralph Rollock had no objections to bail but asked that the accused report to any police station three times a week and surrender his travel documents. After securing the $3 000 bail with one surety, Magistrate Alison Burke ordered that he report to Central Police Station twice a week โ Mondays and Thursdays โ before 10 a.m. His passport was also handed to the court. The case against Ricketts, who is represented by attorney-at-law Neville Reid, continues on January 17, 2025.
