Kooyman marks 85 years with special offers, celebrations on Nov 20

Historic celebrations will take place on Wednesday at Kooyman’s Barbados Megastore, as the home improvement, tools, and hardware store marks 85 years of delivering significant social and economic benefits in all markets where it has operated since its inception in 1939.

Special offers, including a gift area for customers with a November 20 birth date and the continuation of the month-long 15 per cent discount on one entire purchase, will highlight the 85th anniversary.

Noting that celebrations would also take place across Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, and Sint Maarten, Kooyman CEO Juri Kooyman said the company continued to be encouraged by the heartfelt support and customer loyalty received in Barbados, the most recently established of its five markets.

Pointing to the benefits to Barbados and other locations, including economic growth, job creation, and community engagement with support for culture, sustainability, poverty reduction, youth and education, the CEO said Kooyman continued to be proud of its record of serving regional communities for 85 years.

“Our 85th Anniversary is an amazing achievement for everyone at Kooyman. We hope that everyone across our markets, including here in Barbados, can share the joy and excitement we feel and the satisfaction we get from serving our customers and communities everywhere we operate,” Kooyman said.

Marketing Officer Charlene Mullin said the company looked forward to welcoming shoppers, friends, and associates to the grand anniversary celebration at the Kooyman Megastore in Kendall Hill, on Wednesday.

“Kooyman always has a lot in store for everyone, and this anniversary celebration will be extra special as we show our appreciation to customers for their loyal support,” Mullin said. “To mark the occasion, we will also have a limited-edition keepsake in the form of complimentary commemorative mugs for the first 85 shoppers checking out on Wednesday.”

Kooyman’s Barbados Megastore opened on February 22, 2020.
