The former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), who had been serving as an acting judge since earlier this year, took her oath of office during a brief ceremony at State House, administered by the President of Barbados, Her Excellency Dame Sandra Mason. Speaking to members of the media shortly after the ceremony, Babb-Agard expressed deep gratitude to those who supported her elevation to the bench. “I’m thankful to the Government of Barbados and the Judicial Appointment Committee for reposing this confidence in me. I intend to continue to do my best in this job. I am no shirker, hard work won’t kill me, and so I just continue. I’m going to continue to serve as best I can, to be fair, and continue to work with integrity.”(SB) Shamar Blunt You may also like Wills and St Paul’s Primary students top 11-Plus exam 16/06/2025 DLP supports wiretaps, lie tests, but with strict court oversight 16/06/2025 Vonda Pile can no longer practise law in Barbados 16/06/2025
