The announcement was made on Tuesday in Port of Spain with the company describing Williams as an experienced leader with more than four decades in the life and health insurance industry across the region. He succeeds Youil Homsi, who led PALIG’s Caribbean operations over the past year, strengthening business performance, customer retention and operational alignment. The company expressed appreciation for Homsi’s leadership and contributions to its regional growth. Williams previously served as agency manager for PALIG’s Port of Spain and San Fernando offices, where he oversaw 12 consecutive years of growth and developed strong relationships with producers and clients. His earlier leadership roles included positions at Sagicor Life Inc., Colonial Life Insurance Company Limited, and Caribbean Atlantic Life Insurance Company Limited. Chairman of the board and chief executive officer José S Suquet said Williams’s appointment was key to driving PALIG’s next stage of growth in the region. “Winston’s leadership, deep understanding of the Caribbean markets, and strong relationships with producers and clients make him the ideal choice to lead our next stage of growth,” he said. Executive vice president for international markets Dan Costello added that Williams’s extensive industry experience would strengthen operations and support long-term business expansion across the Caribbean. Following regulatory approvals in Trinidad, Williams will also assume the role of chief executive officer of Pan-American Life Insurance Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited, while maintaining overall responsibility for PALIG’s regional operations.
