Teen to face court again in March after cannabis importation charge

Eighteen-year-old Ocean Maat Lolita Hinds of Lammings, St Joseph has been remanded on bail after pleading not guilty to multiple cannabis-related charges when she appeared in the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court.

Hinds, who was charged for offences committed on December 5, appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick on Monday.

She is charged with:-Possession of cannabis-Trafficking of cannabis-Intent to supply cannabis-Importation of cannabis

Police said the drugs seized weighed 22.8 kilograms, with an estimated street value of $182,400.Hinds was granted $40,000 bail with one surety and is scheduled to return to court on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
