(MTW) Share FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 723 A number of road closures and traffic diversions will be in place for the staging of the Barbados Cancer Society’s ‘Walk for A Cure’ on Sunday, October 5, from 2:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Participants will walk along the Barrow Section of the ABC Highway. Road closures The Barrow section of the ABC Highway, from the Everton Weekes Roundabout (Warrens) to the Clyde Walcott Roundabout (Hothersal Turning) From the Everton Weekes Roundabout to the Darcy Scott Roundabout (Chefette Warrens) Traffic diversions Motorists travelling along the Barrow section of the ABC Highway from the Norman Niles Roundabout (Haggatt Hall) towards Clyde Walcott roundabout (Hothersal Turning) will turn left onto Waterford Boulevard (bottom), travelling towards Station Hill or make a right turn onto Codrington. These motorists then have the option of turning left onto Bush Hall Main Road or keeping right towards the traffic lights at the Spooners Hill/Codrington junction. Motorists travelling to the north and wish to rejoin the Ronald Mapp Highway can make a left turn at the Spooners Hill/Codrington junction and travel along White Hall Main Road, to the traffic lights at Hinds Hill. They can continue straight towards Queen’s College, before making a left onto Prior Park Road to rejoin the highway at Redman Village. Motorists travelling along the Cummins section of the Highway, coming from the direction of Cave Hill and going towards Warrens, must turn right at the West Road four cross onto Lodge Hill or left onto Clermont West Road. Motorists can access KFC from the Warrens Access Road, via the roundabout at Lodge Hill but must turn left at the small roundabout by KFC. Motorists travelling from the north of the island from Redman Village and wish to rejoin the ABC Highway, can turn left at the Cost U Less Roundabout, travel through Arthur Seat to Edghill Roundabout (Shop Hill), turn right onto Cane Garden, pass Lester Vaughan School, make a right towards Jackson Main Road, turn left at the BRC Roundabout and travel along Canewood road to the Lears/Bibby’s Lane junction. Motorists can make a right, then a short left along Lears Road, passing CO Williams Companies to Lears Roundabout. Keep straight towards the Belle and rejoin the highway travelling towards Norman Niles Roundabout. Alternatively, motorists can utilise Prior Park Road onto Husbands Road, pass Queen’s College and continue straight at the traffic lights at Hinds Hill onto Whitehall Road. They can continue along Codrington Road, making a right turn at the Waterford/Station Hill junction, onto Station Hill, Bridge Road, My Lord’s Hill towards Norman Niles Roundabout and rejoin the highway. Any person who contravenes these rules or fails to comply with any order given by a member of The Barbados Police Service in uniform is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction, to a fine of BDS$500 or to imprisonment for a term of three months. These rules do not apply to vehicles used by The Barbados Police Service, the Barbados Defence Force, the Barbados Fire Service, or any emergency vehicle.
