Taxi operator remanded on firearm charge

Taxi operator Jamal Nicholi Haynes got a free ride to HMP Dodds today when he appeared in a Bridgetown court on a criminal charge.

It is alleged that the 34-year-old of 7th Avenue New Orleans, St Michael had a firearm in his possession on February 18 without a valid licence.

Haynes who had Angella Mitchell-Gittens as his legal counsel was not required to plead to the indictable charge when he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant.

The accused will make his next appearance in the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on March 25.
