US citizens advised to ‘reconsider travel’ to Barbados

The US Department of State has issued a travel advisory urging Americans to reconsider travel to Barbados.

The level three travel warning was issued on Thursday on Travel.state.gov  website.

The brief advisory told Americans to reconsider travelling to Barbados ‘due to health and safety measures and COVID-related conditions’.

The statement said,” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 3 Travel Health Notice for Barbados due to COVID-19. Barbados has lifted stay at home orders, and resumed some transportation options, and businesses operations.”

To date the US has recorded 4.9 million cases of COVID-19 and 160,000 deaths while Barbados has recorded 133 confirmed cases and seven deaths.
