Accused gunman back to court next month

Charges under the Firearms Act and Drug Abuse Act have resulted in a 27-year-old man being remanded at Dodds Prison.

Rashad Kemar Husbands, of White Hall No. 1, St Michael is accused of having a gun in his possession on December 18 without a valid licence along with 24 rounds of ammunition without a valid permit.

He was not required to plead to the indictable charges before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes this morning.

He however entered not guilty pleas to two counts of possession of marijuana, two counts of possession with intent to supply and two counts of trafficking. The offences were allegedly committed on the same day.

The accused gunman will reappear before Chief Magistrate Weekes in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on January 18, 2021.
