COVID-19 UPDATE: Eight new cases, 58 in isolation

The 1,015 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Friday, July, 9, identified eight new COVID-19 cases – three females and five males.

There are currently 58 people in isolation.

Barbados has recorded 4,136 confirmed cases of the virus, 2,000 females and 2,136 males, since March 2020.  The viral illness has claimed 48 lives.

The public health laboratory has carried out a total of 193,398 tests.

The National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19 has seen 96,174 people receiving first doses of the vaccine.  The number of persons who have been administered both doses and are fully vaccinated is 72,329. (BGIS)
