COVID-19 outbreak at Nursing Home

An outbreak has occurred at a Nursing Home in the Brandford Taitt Polyclinic catchment.

After two persons tested positive, 25 members of staff and residents were tested, resulting in 17 new positives. In following previously established guidelines for the management of outbreaks at nursing homes, plans are underway to establish the Home as an official Isolation Facility, where all affected persons will be cared for.

All current residents at the facility are fully vaccinated. Of the 13 staff members, 10 are fully vaccinated and one has received the first dose. (BGIS)
