COVID-19 update: 315 new cases

There were 315 new COVID-19 cases, 137 males and 178 females, recorded on Friday, July 22, from the 1,001 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The new cases consisted of 53 persons under the age of 18, and 262 who were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 45, while 2,612 were in home isolation.

As at July 22, there were 482 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 721,695 tests since February 2020, and recorded 89,654 COVID-19 cases (40,879 males and 48,775 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162,891 (71.3 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 153,902 (56.8 per cent of the total population or 67.4 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
