Covid-19 Local News News COVID-19 Update: 95 new cases recorded Barbados Today01/09/2022089 views Barbados recorded 95 new COVID-19 cases, 55 males and 40 females, from the 451 tests carried out on Wednesday, August 31, by laboratories across the island. The cases comprised 12 persons under the age of 18, and 83 who were 18 years and older. There were 82 people in isolation facilities, while 1,406 were in home isolation. A 73-year-old man died as a result of the viral illness on Tuesday, August 30, while another man, aged 86, succumbed to the virus on Wednesday. As at August 31, there were 544 COVID-19 related deaths. The laboratories conducted 755,571 tests since February 2020, and recorded 101,215 COVID-19 cases (45,784 males and 55,431 females). Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 163,212 (71.5 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 154,411 (57 per cent of the total population or 67.6 per cent of the eligible population).
