A colourful Easter Bonnet parade

The Easter season started off in fine style on Saturday as just over 20 children participated in a small but colourful Easter Bonnet parade held at Sealy Memorial Church grounds in Upper Collymore Rock, St Michael.

Just after 3 pm several children, wearing vividly creative headpieces, excitedly join in on the activities to mark the upcoming holy season.

Organiser of the event, Hazel King,  who is also the President of the Glory Lights Diabetes Group of  Edgar Cockrane Polyclinic, told Barbados TODAY that the event  is normally held close to her home in The Pine annually due due to road works in the area, a new location had to be found.

“This year where we [normally] hold the event, we could not keep it, [so] I asked my Pastor from the Sealy Memorial Church if we could hold it down here, and I was granted the time to have it down here.”

 

The former founder and principal of the Hazel School for Arts and Craft, said, “God gave me a gift, and I use my gift. Not [only] now, [but] for years. Only thing that stopped me from using my gift is when the island shut down [for COVID].”
