Some UWI workers walk off the job

Workers from several departments were off the job for about an hour on Tuesday.

Sandy Deane: Several workers including those from administration, maintenance, security and other departments from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus are off the job.  They are protesting against institution’s failure to provide promised increases. They are also calling for better work conditions.

President of the UWI’s BWU arm Geoffrey Mapp has expressed disappointment with management’s handling of the workers’ issues.
