St George man swept away by floodwaters found dead

A St George man who was swept away by floodwaters near Charles Rowe Bridge on Sunday night was found dead early Monday. He has been identified as 58-year-old Terry Kellman of Lower Estate, St George.

Police said the incident occurred around 8:43 p.m. when Kellman attempted to cross Lower Estate Road during heavy rainfall and lost his footing. He was carried westward by fast-moving water.

Emergency services launched a search, and around 6:45 a.m. Monday, the body of a man matching his description was discovered in a bushy area along Lower Estate Road. A medical doctor visited the scene and pronounced death.
