Purple House repeat as champs

A top performance from victor ludorum Dwanico ensured that Purple House ran away as champions of George Lamming Primary’s inter-house sports for the second consecutive year today at the National Stadium.

Delort- Moseley contributed 47 points to Purple House Panthers’ overall total of 575 points when the dust settled. In the second position were Blue House Wolves with 476 points followed closely by Gold House Lions with 458 points and Red House Dragons with 434 points in fourth place.

Purple House captured the Under-13 and 11 Boys Division through Delort-Moseley and Amari Moore as those two were the lone champions of their respective age groups.

In his final year at the school, Delort-Moseley clocked 1:11.50 in the 400m and ran 30 seconds flat in the 200m but settled for second in the 100m [14.30] won by Makai King of Gold House in 14.10 seconds.

Delort- Moseley also settled for second in the boys 800m open in 2:57.50 behind housemate Amari Moore in 2:56.80 for the top podium finish while finishing third in the cricket ball throw.

Moore in the Under-11 Boys division scored 45 points when he won the long jump with a 4.63m measurement, the 300m in 50.80 seconds and the 200m in 32.00 seconds but failed to finish in the top three of the 100m when he came fourth.

Victrix ludorum honours went to Shakayla Bostic of Blue House with 42 points having won the Under-13 Girls 400m in a time of 1:16.00 but finishing second in the 200m and third in the 100m sprints. Johanna Frederick of Gold House won the 100m in 15.80 seconds, and Deshe Hunte of Purple House captured the 200m race in 33.00 seconds.

Leslie Griffith of Red House was top girl in the Under-11 Division scoring 40 points for her house when she crossed the finish line first in 53.40 seconds to win the 300m. Griffith was in a fast lane all by herself as she also won the 100m in 15.60 seconds, the 200m in 33.30 seconds and the long jump with a 3.92m measurement.  

In the Under-nine boys, Christian Harding of Gold House tallied 40 points in total when he won the 80m in 12.30 seconds, the 100m in 16.20 seconds, the 150m in 23.70 seconds and the cricket ball throw with a 26.15m distance.

Meanwhile, in the Under-nine Girls, Shakiya Callender of Blue House contributed 30 points and finished second in both the 80m and 100m while placing third in the 150m. Jakeyla Bennett of Purple House won the 80m and 100m in 13.80 seconds and 17.30 seconds while the 150m was captured by Rashaunte Marshall of Purple House in a time of 25.20 seconds.
