Prison for drunken crook

A 43-year-old man with no fixed place of abode will have a roof over his head at least for the next eight months.

That’s how long Timothy Anderson Trotman will spend in Dodds prison for stealing a cellular phone belonging to Anthony Morgan on February 26, 2019.

The accused told Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant today in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court: “I was drunk and I don’t know what became of the cellular phone.”

Morgan was at an arcade on Marhill Street in the City around 1 a.m. when he placed his bag between two machines as he socialised with friends. Two hours later he made a check of his property to find it opened and the device missing. Trotman was later seen on CCTV video taking the cellular phone and leaving the established.

The accused was seen on March 18 in the same area. He was detained and admitted to the offence. The property was not recovered.
