No one to sign bail

An alleged cocaine trafficker was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds today after he was unable to secure a surety.

David Bertrum Whitehall, of Hawkins Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael is accused of having several blocks of the crystalline substance in his possession on May 22.

The 47-year-old mechanic is also facing a charge of possession with intent to supply of the illegal drug which weighed 2.065 kilogrammes and had a $140,000 street value.

He pleaded not guilty to all three charges when he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant.

There was no objection to bail. However, Whitehall had no one to sign on his behalf.

The accused will reappear in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on June 20.
