Repair of main by BWA crews complete

The Barbados Water Authority wishes to further inform residents and businesses in parts of St Michael and Christ Church that repairs to the burst 9-inch main in Belle Gully, St Michael have been completed and the water has been
turned back on.

The BWA reminds customers that even though the repairs are complete, it will take some time for the water pressure within the distribution network to return to normal. The Authority’s personnel will also be monitoring this particular main (an older main) closely should another rupture occur.

Water tankers will continue to assist residents in the affected areas in the interim.

The Barbados Water Authority is also this evening alerting customers in parts of St Michael, St James and St Thomas supplied by the Shop Hill section of the network that they may experience low water pressure or outages as it has been forced to stop pumping from its station at Lodge Hill due to low reservoir levels.
