Baxter’s Road killer pleads guilty to manslaughter

Accused Eddisa Deon Mitchell today said he was not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter in connection with the 2016 death of Colin Forde.

The 2nd Avenue, Thomas Gap, President Kennedy Drive, St Michael resident, who is in his late 20s, entered the plea today via Zoom in a hearing before Justice Randall Worrell in the No. 2 Supreme Court.

The Crown accepted the plea. Mitchell will reappear before the High Court with his attorney-at-law Safiya Moore on Thursday, August 20 when the facts of the case will be detailed by Senior Crown Counsel Olivia Davis.

Forde, a 50-year-old businessman, was gunned down on May 10, 2016 on the steps of his business on Baxter’s Road, The City.
