Trio remanded on multiple charges

Three men charged in connection with a shooting incident earlier this month at Hall’s Road, St Michael have been remanded to prison until September 16.

Andrew Dwayne Burgess, 40, of Airy Hill St Joseph, Ramario O’Neal Boxhill, 24, of 3rd Avenue Spring Garden St Michael and Jadai Junior Clarke, 25, of School Lane, Hall’s Road, St Michael appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today at the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court accused of committing 13 offences combined.

The charges, which were allegedly committed on August 9, fall under the Firearms Act, Criminal Damage Act, Public Order Act and the Offences against the Person Act.

They were not required to plead to any of theindictable charges when they were read.

Burgess, Clarke and Boxill are separately accused of assaulting police constables Wayne Skeete and Brian Morris with intent to prevent lawful apprehension of themselves.

The three are jointly charged with damaging a house belonging to Colleen Worrell without lawful excuse; using a firearm without a valid licence and unlawfully and recklessly engaging in conduct that placed Alecia Proute in danger of death or serious bodily harm.

Burgess is represented by attorney-at-law Angella Mitchell-Gittens and Romain Marshall; Boxhill has Michael Lashley, Q.C. as his legal counsel and defence counsel Shadia Simpson is representing Clarke.
