Catlyn found guilty of possession of ammunition

Hasan Corey Catlyn, who was on trial for possession of ammunition, was found guilty by a jury today.

Justice Carlisle Greaves presiding in the No. 3 Supreme Court, remanded Catlyn until November 20, 2020 and ordered a pre-sentencing report for that date.

In the matter, which occurred on January 22, 2013, the prosecution alleged that the bullets were found in the toilet after a search warrant was executed at Catlyn’s Bridge Road, St Michael residence. Police said they saw Catlyn coming from the bathroom with his hands wet before discovering the bullets.

Both Catlyn and his mother, Beverly Foster, who were at the residence when police executed the warrant denied ownership of thebullets. Foster also denied writing her initials on tape attached to the plastic bag with the five bullets and claimed that a statement she allowed police to record did not reflect her words.

Prosecutor Senior Crown Counsel Neville Watson appeared on behalf of the Crown in the matter and attorney Arthur Holder represented Catlyn.
