Hello! Invest in technology, advises Magistrate

While he escaped serious punishment, a St Michael man caught using his cell phone while driving was given some advice by the sitting Magistrate.

Anderson Forde of School Road, Hindsbury, walked out of the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court after he was convicted, reprimanded and discharged for the offence by Magistrate Alison Burke today.

The first-time offender had earlier pleaded guilty to using his cell phone while driving along Government Hill.

He explained to the magistrate that he was on his way to pick up his grandson from school but traffic was heavy.

Forde said his phone rang and soon after answering it he was stopped by a police officer.

Before giving him a CRD, Magistrate Burke advised him to invest in some new technology for his car that would allow him to answer calls via Bluetooth.
