Parris admits to killing policeman

Cop killer Applon Ishmael Ithamar Parris has pleaded guilty in the High Court.

The 29-year-old, of Taitt’s Road, Britton’s Hill, St Michael this morning told Justice Randall Worrell “I plead guilty to non-capital murder” in connection with the March 26, 2018 stabbing death of police constable Shayne Welch who was killed in an early morning incident at his Kingsland, Christ Church home.

Following the plea Parris’ defence counsel Safiya Moore requested pre-sentencing and psychological reports for her client.

The facts of the case will be revealed on December 1 by Director of Public Prosecutions Donna Babb-Agard Q.C, and Senior Crown Counsel Olivia Davis in the No. 2 Supreme Court.
