Safety Supplies toasting 55 years

By Shamar Blunt

In celebration of its 55th anniversary of providing safety solutions for both the domestic and industrial sectors on the island, the Safety Supplies Company has entered into a new partnership with Ansa Motors and Consolidated Finance, to bring a new level of safety and convenience to local businesses involved in the movement of cargo.

Tommy Gates, the hydraulic liftgate solution that has been in use since its original design in the 1950’s, is now being offered as an additional package to all prospective Kia K2700 buyers, or any compatible trucks, from Ansa Motors going forward.

This safety solution, according to Safety Supply’s digital media specialist, Zuwena Perry-Willett, will provide a new level of safety and efficiency for users of the product, as companies around the island seek to streamline the services they offer.

“Combining a Tommy Gate with your Kia K2700 or any compatible truck will undoubtedly aid in improving productivity by reducing the time spent loading or unloading the vehicle, which then in turn leads to an increase in efficiency and lowering of costs for any business.

There will also be a reduction in health and safety incidents as the risk of injury from lifting heavy cargo all but disappears with the flip of a Tommy Gate control switch.

“This endeavour will revolutionise trucks’ purchases within the heavy lift industry. It is a timely offering that will help stimulate the recovery of our economy by allowing businesses to develop and grow, by providing access to what all current owners and users regard as an essential piece of equipment,” she explained. Gordon Spencer, sales manager at Ansa Motors, also said it was an excited initiative for the company, as the new addition for a Tommy Gate will be especially favourable for small business entrepreneurs.

“I am both excited and honoured to make this piece of essential lifting equipment readily available to small business entrepreneurs in Barbados, who at this time are looking to create jobs and gain work. It’s a very exciting opportunity of which Ansa Motors is delighted to be part of,” he stated.

Purchasers of the Kia K2700 or other similar trucks from Ansa Motors, can also receive loans for the added Tommy Gate, through Consolidated Finance. (PR)
