All schools closed, classes to be held online-Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education has advised that all schools will operate online today. Below is the full statement.
Due to last night’s thunderstorm, several areas around Barbados have reported fallen trees and roads blocked.
Electricity and water are also off in several areas.
The combination of the above factors will impact students and staff getting to schools and will also impact the grounds and buildings at some schools.
The Ministry of Education Technological and Vocational Training is therefore advising that all schools operate online today so that all necessary cleanup and restoration can be carried out. Any assessments planned for today will be rescheduled.
Any inconvenience caused is regretted.
Joy Adamson
Acting Chief Education Officer.
