Court Accused man on nightly curfew Barbados Today22/07/20210184 views A 22-year-old Christ Church man accused of three offences now has to adhere to a daily curfew and several other bail conditions. In securing $4 000 bail with one surety, Junihno Demarius Severin-Hinds, a Coverley resident, was told that he must stay indoors between 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. daily; report to the Hastings Police Station every Tuesday and Saturday by 1 p.m. with valid identification; and stay away from the complainants in the charges levelled against him. It is alleged that Severin-Hinds, on July 17, assaulted Onifa Browne occasioning her actual bodily harm; damaged a mattress and curtain belonging to her without lawful excuse; and assaulted Retro Moore. He pleaded not guilty to the charges when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Weekes in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, accompanied by his attorney-at-law Martie Garnes. Severin-Hinds was granted bail by the judge who ruled in favour of the defence, following submissions against bail by Sergeant Victoria Taitt and arguments by Garnes that his client should be granted his pre-trial liberty. The accused will make his next court appearance on September 6.
