BRA thief to be sentenced in Oct

A 40-year-old man is on remand as Dodds awaiting his fate.

When Samuel Omar Kunar Manoher Harris, of Fairfield, Black Rock,  St Michael appeared before Magistrate Manila Renee he asked for the opportunity to change his not guilty plea to guilty on a burglary charge. It was granted.

Harris admitted before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court that he was the one who entered the Barbados Revenue Authority on May 16 and burglarized it.

Among the items stolen were a kettle, a dustpan and broom, a heater, a bottle of listerine, a pack of wipes, a pack of batteries and two bottles of hand soap worth $170.95 belonging to Julie Gittens. He also took a laptop, two charging cables, and a computer mouse among other items valued at $1 460.

An assortment of snacks and juices worth $38. 75 belonging to Ashera Brathwaite were also taken as well as $20 cash the property of Sashelle Forde.

The total value for all the items is $1 689. 70.

Harris, who is known to the courts, will make his next appearance before Renee on October 6 when he will be sentenced.
