COVID-19 Update: 201 new cases, five deaths, 995 people in isolation

Ninety-four males and 107 females are the island’s latest COVID-19 cases. The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 2,427 tests on Wednesday, September 29.
Of these 201 new cases, 39 individuals are under the age of 18, and the remaining 162 are 18 years and older.
There are 995 persons in isolation.
Five deaths were recorded on Wednesday: an 85-year-old woman and four men aged 52, 55, 58, and 65. They were unvaccinated.
As at September 29, the number of deaths is 74.
Barbados has recorded 8,381 confirmed cases of the viral illness, since March 2020.
The public health laboratory has performed 317,746 tests.
A total of 135,036 first doses have been administered under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19. To date, 104,912 persons (38.7 per cent of the population) have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
