Scenes from Remembrance Day ceremony

This year’s Remembrance Day celebrations were once again a small, brief affair, due to COVID-19 protocols restricting the size of gatherings.

During the short ceremony, Governor General Dame Sandra Mason, Prime Minister Mia Mottley. Leader of the Opposition Bishop Joseph Atherley, as well as other dignitaries, laid wreaths at the foot of the cenotaph in commemoration of the special day.

There were no official speeches during the brief interdenominational memorial service.

Several prayers were given as attendees, including members from the Barbados Regiment, the Barbados Defence Force, Royal Barbados Police Force Band and eight members of the Barbados Legion, stood in vigil as they paid their respects to those who have served and fallen in conflicts around the globe.
