Harris Paints support for the homeless

Harris Paints Barbados recently donated one thousand dollars in paint and painting supplies to the Barbados Alliance to End Homelessness (BAEH).

During the handover, the company’s senior retail services representative Karen Beckles stated: “The cause of the homeless in Barbados has long been close to our hearts.

Many of those who interact with our brand daily are homeowners seeking to enhance their surroundings and lives. So, when we consider those in need, we naturally think about those who don’t have this basic necessity – a place to call home.”

Speaking further to the brand’s commitment to this vulnerable group she added: “These are particularly difficult times for many in Barbados, so you can imagine the need for us to brighten their world and bring a sense of hope and a sense of home to the shelters.”

BAEH case manager Kimberly Hinds-Harewood expressed her gratitude for the donation and the relationship between the two entities.

“Harris has been a friend to our organisation from almost inception and it is the charitable actions of companies such as Harris that allow us to achieve the goals that we set,” Hinds-Harewood said.

Noting the challenges to the local economy and business community brought on by COVID-19, Beckles said it had only strengthened their resolve to give.

“A society is as strong as its weakest link. We cannot think we are successful if a considerable number within our communities become invisible to us or fall through the cracks. So we will continue to support the efforts of the alliance, especially during tough times.”

Harris Paints will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year. (PR)
