David Estwick and Ronnie Yearwood to contest DLP’s top post

The Democratic Labour Party (DLP) has formally announced the two candidates vying for the post of president ahead of the organisation’s Extraordinary Conference on Sunday May 1.

During a press conference at the party’s George Street Auditorium headquarters, interim president Steve Blackett confirmed that former government minister Dr David Estwick and University of the West Indies law lecturer Dr Ronnie Yearwood would contest the post.
Blackett said the special conference would feature a devotion and worship session led by Reverend Dr David Durant in the morning and a cultural presentation in the afternoon. A number of dynamic speakers, including former UWI Cave Hill principal The Most Honourable Professor Eudine Barriteau and Carlos Forte – a Barbadian economist resident in Canada, will also address the party.
Voting will commence at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. (kareemsmith@barbadostoday.bb)
