Police Public Relations Officer Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss said officers from the Black Rock Police Station responded to a report received around 6:15 p.m. about a stabbing at Dash Gap, Bank Hall, St. Michael. On arrival, they found the lifeless body of a man on the ground at the entrance of a bar in the area. “We later learned that there was an altercation between two males and as a result one received an injury and [he] was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner who visited the scene,” Inniss said. The identity of the victim has not yet been released. Meantime, police are carrying out investigations to identify the human skeletal remains found in a cane field at Bannatyne Road, Christ Church around 4:10 p.m., by workers who were harvesting sugarcane. They have cordoned off the area along the southern and northern sections of Bannatyne Road and diverted traffic. “We will hold that [cordon] until first light tomorrow when we will continue our investigations into what has happened there,” Acting Inspector Inniss said late Friday. “That’s as much as we can say now. We do not know if it’s a male or female and we will [continue] our investigations very early in the morning when we can extend the scene,” he added. (SD)
