Best to go on trial for murder

Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (DDPP) Alliston Seale will on Thursday begin calling witnesses in a murder case before the High Court.

The prosecutor this morning addressed the 12-member jury after they were empaneled in the No. 2 Supreme Court to hear the details of the trial in the matter of the state versus Anderson Rodney Omar Best.

Best is accused of murdering Justin Trevor Jean on August 30, 2011 in Christ Church. Jean reportedly lost his life in a stabbing incident.

During his address DDPP Seale urged the jury to listen to the evidence in the case and only make a determination based on that evidence.

The trial is presided over by Justice Randall Worrell and Best is represented by attorney-at-law Angella Mitchell-Gittens.a
