Todd not interested in bail

Accused thief Arleigh Arthur Todd declared that he was “not seeking bail” after the prosecution put forward an objection to him being released at this time on two theft charges.

The 61-year-old, of no fixed place of abode, appeared before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court accused of entering the Lockerbie College between May 13 and 16 as a trespasser and stealing 21 cans of paint worth $2 100.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge before Magistrate Kim Butcher. He also denied stealing a bucket containing electrical and plumbing fittings worth $400, a power saw, a level, a folding chair and a sheet of plywood total value $1 199 belonging to Tanisha Stuart. The offence is said to have occurred between May 7 and 22.

When it came time for bail, Station Sergeant Crishna Graham objected but the accused quickly stated, “I am not seeking bail”.

Todd was remanded to Dodds Prison until July 5.
