Duo freed of drug charges

A jury on Friday acquitted Adrian Marville and Anthony Corbin of two drug
charges.

“You are free to go,” Madam Justice Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell told Marville, of Hawkins Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael and Corbin, of Trents, Holetown, St James after the unanimous not guilty verdicts were returned following an hour of deliberations by jurors in the No. 4 Supreme Court.

The duo had been accused of possession of and trafficking 340.4 kilogrammes of cannabis on November 10, 2010, within the territorial waters of Barbados.

They were represented by attorney-at-law Andrew Pilgrim KC. Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Alliston Seale prosecuted the case.
