Local car dealer adds Pothole Pro to its ‘fleet’

Government is in a better position to address the pothole-ridden roads across the island.

Local auto dealer Inchcape Barbados has partnered with JCB and Infra Construction Inc. to introduce the newest cutting edge road repair equipment called the Pothole Pro.

During a recent demonstration at Black Bess, St Peter, officials said that the heavy-duty machine was a unique three-in-one solution specifically designed to permanently repair small to large potholes in minutes and was guaranteed to save time and money.

JCB’s Caribbean general manager Erick Montero said the machine was launched last year in Europe and could “cut, crop and clean potholes to prepare them for

asphalt ten times faster than traditional methods”.

He said that there was also no need to use additional equipment when using the Pothole Pro, making it a cost-efficient option.

Head of industrial and machinery sales with Inchcape Barbados David Pitt, referred to the company’s newest  addition as a fantastic innovation.

 “As drivers, we are all aware of the situation with potholes on the island and the damage they can inflict on our vehicles. This piece of equipment is an efficient solution and we are pleased to be able to work with JCB to offer such a product to Barbados.

“We demonstrated Pothole Pro to a number of our partners in the industry, including representatives from Ministry of Transport and Works, the Barbados Water Authority and the National Petroleum Corporation, to name a few, showcasing the many features and capabilities of the machine and the ways it can be efficiently used in day-to-day operations. The response was fantastic and everyone was impressed with the machine’s ability to significantly increase productivity, improve operations and provide savings,” he said.

During the event, JCB’s general manager Ben Rawding spoke about the Pothole Pro’s features noting it was developed after extensive research into current pothole and patch repair methods.

He said the machine could also be operated safely in congested areas and could be used in single lanes without causing danger to either pedestrians or vehicles.(SZB/PR)
