Jamaica rocked by earthquake

Jamaicans were jolted by an earthquake just before 11 a.m. today.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake which occurred at 4 km West North West of Hope Bay, Jamaica had a magnitude of 5.4 and a depth of 10.0 k.m.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness in a social media post expressed hope that ” everyone is safe following that earthquake”.

There have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The USGS said the quake was also felt in The Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Haiti, Cuba and US minor outlying states.
