Brothers on separate gun charges

Two brothers pleaded guilty to similar but separate firearm and ammunition charges in the High Court.

Appearing before Justice Carlisle Greaves in the No. 3 Supreme Court, Jamal St Clair Ramsay, 36, of Browne’s Gap, Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church, confessed to having a .357 revolver without a valid licence and six rounds of ammunition without a valid permit on November 17, 2021.

His younger sibling, Jamar Kareem Ramsay, 32, of the same address, admitted to having a .38 revolver and six rounds of ammunition on the same date.

Principal State Counsel Neville Watson accepted the plea on the State’s behalf. The men were represented by Senior Counsel Angella Mitchell-Gittens who requested pre-sentence reports for both of her clients.

The Ramsay brothers will return to court on September 27 for sentencing.
